A low-residue / low fiber diet may be suggested disease flare periods of diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. • White rice, refined pasta and noodles
• Shun away from whole grains

Fruits:
• Fruit juices except for prune juice.
• Applesauce, apricots, a half serving of banana, cantaloupe, canned fruit cocktail, grapes, honeydew melon, peaches, watermelon.
• Refrain from raw and dried fruits, raisins and any type of berries.

Vegetables:
• Vegetable juices are highly recommended.
• Peeled potatoes.
• Fresh and well-cooked vegetables including alfalfa sprouts, beets, green/yellow beans, carrots, celery, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, green and red bell peppers, squash or pumpkins, and zucchini
• Avoid vegetables belonging to the cruciferous family such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, and Swiss chard

Meat and Protein Choice:
•Well-cooked meat, fish and eggs.
• Refrain from beans and lentils.

Nuts and Seeds:
• Avoid all kinds of nuts and seeds, as well as foods that may have seeds.

Dairy Products:
• As recommended by your doctor or registered dietitian
